Hola from Argentina!
It was a relief to touch ground after 17 hours of travel, even if there were heavy downpours across Buenos Aires. Wiping sleep from our eyes we braved the weather. Before long the rain ceased, clouds dissipated and the sunlight revealed the vibrancy of the city.
We walked through the colonial city of flats painted pale with dark metal balconies offset by colourful flower boxes. Tall trees lined the streets, some with moss and orchids growing on the side of the tree which received little sunlight. The area had a community feel about it with public gardens and vegetable patches dotted about for locals.
The day was lazily spent exploring local parks and gardens. We surrendered to sleep deprivation by enjoying dinner in a cafe where locals were finishing up lunch before heading back to the hostel for some much needed sleep.
